Me Myself N My Mortgage Theories

Hi all!

Remember, in an earlier post I said that Sam from MortgageFit Community had decided to introduce something that could give a good start to beginners in the mortgage industry.

Well, we gave it a thought and discussed with the moderators at the forums – I guess this was important as the moderators are into regular handling of queries and problems faced by common people. Some of them proposed that we come up with a book that could give a detailed knowledge on mortgage. But this did not convince others.

The consensus was - we’ll try to think of something new, something different – something that could really help visitors in their practical situations. After all, how many of the common people we see around us really go through an entire book and then go for home buying or shopping for a mortgage? Hardly do we find such people. I believe it’s important to study the minds of the people and assess their needs just to find out if the people out their at all require such a thing or in words will they actually benefit from it.

So, that was it, Brian, the marketing guy at MF suggested that the community do a survey to know what exactly people look forward to when they buy a home or shop around for lenders to get a home loan. Some of the community members were willing to participate in the survey. I too was interested but then could not escape from my daily routine and my assignments.

In a few weeks, the survey was over and then we arranged for a meeting as to what should we come up with. The survey revealed what the buyers wanted – something that could tell them what they’ll have to do step by step when they actually plan to buy a home and that too with a mortgage. Brian suggested that we come up with a booklet featuring the entire home buying process in a nutshell – something one could read at night and the next morning find himself at a lender’s office.

That was it! We all liked the idea and it was decided that in a few months we should develop a booklet, keeping in mind consumer requirements. Our aim was to create something new through the combined efforts of community members at MortgageFit.
